Want to learn how to develop iPhone apps?

As someone with an iPhone and with a background in application development, I've been curious about developing iPhone apps. How easy is it to develop an iPhone app concept, design it, code it, test it, and bring it live? Looks like Apple and Stanford University have read my mind. Stanford University and Apple are providing free educational materials (syllabus, slides, and video recordings from 10-week Stanford computer science class) on iPhone application development.
